Youth Teams - Our Structure

At Maypole FC, football is at the heart of our community.

We know that every player is different. Some join us having never kicked a football before, while others are looking for the next challenge in their development. Our role is to provide every player with a safe, enjoyable and supportive environment where they can learn, make friends and enjoy being part of a team.

We believe football should be fun. Winning has its place, but it's never more important than helping young people build confidence, show respect, work hard for one another and enjoy coming to training every week. We want every player to leave with a smile on their face and a desire to come back again.

From U7 to our adult first teams, we provide a clear pathway for players to develop at every stage of their football journey. As our club continues to grow, we're committed to creating opportunities for more children, young people and adults to enjoy football within their local community, regardless of their age, ability, background or previous experience.

A big part of our growth has come through our partnership with JW Football Coaching in recent years. Together, we've introduced hundreds of children to the game, helping many of them take their first steps into team football. Over the past three years, that partnership has played a significant role in establishing more than 15 new teams, creating opportunities for more children to enjoy grassroots football.

Alongside this, Maypole FC has continued to invest in widening participation by introducing Wildcats and Squad Girls to enhance our female pathway, providing opportunities for girls to play football. We are also providers of the FA's Comets programme, sessions for young people with additional needs to support their first steps into football. This implementation further demonstrates our commitment towards enforcing our Equality, Diversity & Inclusion principles across all areas of the club.

Our ambition is simple: To continue growing responsibly, creating more opportunities for local families and ensuring everyone who wants to play football has the chance to do so in a positive, inclusive and supportive environment.
