Our Commitment to Safeguarding at Maypole FC

At Maypole FC, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every player, volunteer, coach, parent and carer feels valued, respected and in a position to thrive.

Our commitment to safeguarding extends far beyond meeting requirements. We work proactively to promote a culture where everyone understands their role in keeping others safe, concerns are taken seriously and appropriate action is taken whenever needed. We ensure our coaches, volunteers and committee members receive the necessary training, follow robust safeguarding procedures and uphold the highest standards of conduct both on and off the pitch. For more information, please view our safeguarding policy below:

We aim to ensure a safe, inclusive environment where individuals feel respected and supported. When it comes to safeguarding, we believe it's important that the right people are there to listen, support and take action. Our team has the experience, knowledge and compassion to do exactly that. I am proud to be part of a team that genuinely cares, far beyond our remit. Click the link below to meet our team:

To support our continued commitment towards clarity, transparency and awareness, we are introducing a new reporting process for the 2026-27 season. Whilst most of this process is already built into our wider practice, it aims to ensure that parents/carers understand club procedures in full, maintain realistic operational expectations and work with us throughout the season.

We are deeply committed to embedding safeguarding into every aspect of our club, ensuring that policies, appropriate DBS checks, regular training and clear reporting procedures are in place. We encourage openness and trust to ensure everyone feels confident to raise concerns, knowing that they will be listened to and treated seriously.

Our club motto, Belong • Believe • Achieve, reflects everything we stand for both on and off the pitch. We want every player, volunteer, coach, parent and carer to feel that they truly belong within our club. By creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment, we help people feel part of our incredible community. We inspire individuals to belief in themselves, in each other, and in what they can accomplish.

So, whether you’re pulling on our famous red and black shirt for the first time, cheering from the touchline or volunteering behind the scenes, you are an important part of our club.

Thank you for playing your part in making our club the special place it is. Together, we’ll continue to look after one another, uphold high standards and ensure that Maypole FC continues to be a place where everyone can enjoy football, make lifelong friendships and create lasting memories.
